To answer a question posted in NY Trail Conditions...
I hiked in the Catskills Tuesday. We found up to 18" of soft fluffy snow. More fell yesterday. Whether the trails are broken out or not on the Eastern D.P., I can not say, but I would recommend bringing snow shoes.
