Trail Conditions: Went up via Mossy Cascade. Trail is completely broken and packed down, a variable highway. There is about 1-2 inches of snow towards the beginning of the trail, and the depth increases to about a foot or more near the summit. I drove around Keene Valley, and the other trailheads look very similar. Go figure, right?
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes not essential until higher elevations (and then only for the 8'' rule). Nothing else really needed besides winter clothing. If hiking beyond to Spread Eagle, snowshoes would be a huge help.
Comments: "It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives."
