Breaking trail of the becker hollow trail of new snow of 5” increasing to about 12”+ at the 3500’ level. Remnants of a Bare-booter end at the 3500’ level. Above 3500’ breaking trail became a slower grind with powder depths increasing to 2-3’ plus, especially at steeper pitches with drifting. Additionally all tree branches are arching down to trail, covered with at least 1/4” of ice from previous ice storm and with additional weight of new snow, obscuring trail and at times and making crawling on all fours a requirement. Snow levels subsided at summit. Trail now broken to summit for now. Snowshoes essential.
