Went for a quick hike up Hunter via the Becker Hollow TH Monday afternoon after work. It was bone dry down low on the trail. At about 3000' when it starts getting steep I started encountering snow and had to stop and put on my stabilicers. On top there is up to 4" or so of wet, dense snow. I was glad to have brought a traction device as it would've been far too treacherous with out them and I'd have had to turn back early. The moon was bright enough on the descent to be able to see quite clearly although a headlamp was still needed.
