Wed night the intrepid nhmtnhiker and I drove up to Mt. Pierce road and started up Edmands path at 6:30. No snow very nice. Beautiful trail. Gorgeous how it winds around the cone of Ike up high. Got up to the col about 7:45. It got real windy and fairly cold, maybe mid 40's. My acrophobia stopped me about 50 feet up the cone of Ike. I wished I had more time to acclimate to the exposure, usually after a few tries I can get past the problem. Great views anyways, you could see big chunks of snow farther up the range on the side of Big George, but less than sunday when i was on isolation with Sherpa John. Bob summited at 8:07 and we hiked down to the car about 9:15.
Not wanting my acrophobia to get the best of me, I drove back up last night with my famous environmental extremist friend Chris. We started up about 6 and I felt more comfortable on the cone and after some hesitatoin, just blasted up it. We summited a little after 8. Great views, more clear than the night before. Little warmer than the night before. Felt a bit shaky going down the cone of Ike the last steep part, but at least I did it. After that we had a fairly uneventful climb down, and donned headlamps the last 20 minutes or so. Down about 9:50.
So far since Isolation on sunday I did Kearsarge monday and tuesday also after work. 5 hikes in a row. I don't know what it takes to lose any more weight. Maybe I should try filet mignon every night.

The mountain may have been renamed Pierce, but, last I looked, the road was still named the Mount Clinton Road. Or were you making an oblique political statement?

you took the bait!!!! I KNEW somebody was going to respond to that! laffs. actually your technically correct. I used to refer to it all as mt.clinton, but everybody else seems to call it mt.pierce, so I just called it(the road) that for consistency. I am aware of the technical details of the names of the roads, peaks, trails, etc.
