We have received word from an administrator of another hiking forum regarding hacking activity involving the forum, Paypal, and on-line bank
accounts. The hacker allegedly tunneled into the forum membership data base and stole email addresses and passwords. If you use the same
password and/or email addresses from VFTT and either Paypal or online banking, a hacker might be able to access your financial accounts and steal money.
If you have a PayPal account or an on-line bank account, do NOT use the same Email address and password for them as in VFTT. While forum software is highly secure, it may not stop a seasoned hacker from collecting your Email address and password. Once the hacker has your forum Email address and password, they may try to log on PayPal or your bank accounts.
We urge you to make your VFTT password different than any of your financial accounts, and to double check your checking accounts to be sure everything is secure. If you have concerns or problems, pls PM Dave and I.
