Date of Hike: 1/9/10
Trail Conditions: Packed powder on the bottom, deeper toward the top, one icy spot. Sunny and calm wind at the bottom, breezier in the afternoon.
Special Equipment Required: We wore snow shoes the whole way but we could have bare booted or Microspiked the lower section. We left the ice ax and crampons in the car but there was one short section where they might have been helpful.
Comments: We started at the nice new parking area on Prediger Rd, followed the Devil’s Path (over 2 false summits which we later decided were nice photo ops) and came down Jimmy Dolan Notch Trail. Good conditions, nice people, great day!
