While I appreciate the concept the article indicates a helmet is often not worn because it's heavy and hot. I don't see this thing as light and cool. Most folks I know who choose to go without a helmet choose not to because they see it as not cool (the other cool) or not needed because they're not planning to fall.

And on the climbing side unless it has a sensor for the guy above yelling "Rock!" it won't protect you from something falling on you.
