Hike on February 14.
Route: Rocky Branch Trail, Engine Hill bushwack, Isolation Trail, Davis Path
Conditions: Essentially hard pack with some drifting towards the end. I used microspikes until close to Davis Path and then snowshoes.
Comments: Get it while it lasts. A fast, tracked route to Isolation. It took me only 7 hours RT.
(I know about looking gift horses in the mouth and all, but the Engine Hill bushwack must have pioneered by someone who had a few too many. Zigzags galore and so many PUDs that it probably had more elevation gain and loss than the regular trail.)
This was my winter 48th!
