Not that it really matters anymore with the foot plus of new snow forecast to fall, but a path has been broken out to the summit of Isolation via the Rocky Branch, Engine Hill whack, Rocky Branch again, the Davis Path and the Isolation spur path.

There was usually a foot of fresh powder that needing breaking out and at times on the Davis Path, waist deep snow. The RB had been packed out before us up to the height of land but after that we were on our own.

Luckily we had a good strong group and pushed our way to the summit with additional off trail maneuvering where the trail was difficult to follow. A few of us were lucky enough to be gobbled up by spruce traps. Not many views as the clearing took place later than forecast. It took us a little over 12 hours to complete the journey coming out under headlamps.

Snowshoes all the way. Leave the crampons and microspikes in the car.

J&J along with other fun loving trailbusters!
