Date of Hike: Sat 3-21-09
Hikerneds posting from yesterday pretty well sums it up. I hooked up with Ed Hawkins group today. What a day. The trails are in the best shape for this hike than could be asked for. Solid and firm almost all day with a little softening later on, but still firm and barebootable. Some of us wore spikes while most bare booted. The snow shoes stayed on our packs. The whack through the birches from the height of land was really beautiful. Snow bridges in great shape. Looks like they will hold up for a while. Only two other hikers on the trail today besides our group. Nice hiking with Ed, Jim, Eric, Bill, Jaye, & Jeff.
