Donna and I did a 14 mile hike once again on a section of the Appalachian Trail just south from where we left off last week. We didn't meet any thru hikers this week but we did have an encounter with someone who we've met before. Besides hiking the AT we also do hikes closer to home, one of which is Oregon Ridge Park, just 15 miles from our house. On several occasions we would cross paths with a fellow hiker who is training for The Long Trail in Vermont and we would chat for a few minutes each time. Well, here we are hiking the AT, which has a section in Maryland 46 miles long, and maybe 70 miles from our house and who just happens to be coming towards us? Yep, the guy we call "Long Trail". It sure is a small world.

Now I've got that song going thru my head.

Also, on this trip we saw another box turtle. Their population must be doing well.

Here's the link to some of the photos I took along the way.

Nice!

Great turtle shots! The haze in some of the pictures tells the heat and humidity story. I hope those days are done up here!
