Trail was packed with drifting snow on it, which increased with altitude. One crawl under. On the way back I ran into some barebooters, but in my opinion snowshoes provided enough extra traction on the way up to compensate for the weight shift from pack to feet as the slope increased, and flotation for the short drift segments which are now packed. On the way down the conditions were perfect for using snowshoes, they gave just the right amount of cushioning, stability and traction to really boogie without holding back. This trail is generally sheltered from the wind, and the hike so short, that I was never cold, except at the very top, where it was brutal enough for me to put on a baclava. Even the mighty tough little dog turned white in the blowing snow and headed down on his own.
