Trail Conditions: The lower sections of the Long Trail have been well used and packed. There were a few inches of powder, though some sections were fully drifted in. Approximately ¼ mile below the summit, the track led out onto the ski trail. The LT was not broken out from that point to the normal outlet to the ski trail.

The herd path off the LT to Big Jay has been packed by skiers and is easy to follow.

Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes for the entire route.

Comments: The red snow fencing that had been installed across the herd path in response to the illegal cutting two years ago has been removed. A new sign has been posted just before the herd path, apparently indicating that the herd path is once again ok to use.
