Ranger Kris Alberga asked me to get this out on ADKHighPeaks and VFTT.

"Please be advised that the cable deck bridge crossing of Johns Brook
near the Interior Outpost will be dismantled within the next two weeks.
As many of you are aware the bridge has fallen into disrepair and has
been on the Department's schedule for replacement. The Department
intends to replace this structure over the coming months; we hope that
the structure will be in place before winter, however it may be as late
as late March/April before the new structure is in place.

In the meantime, hikers should be aware that there will be no dry
crossing of Johns Brook east of Bushnell Falls. As a result hikers
intending to climb the lower Great Range will need to alter their
itineraries.

We intend to replace this structure as quickly as possible, and will
advise you again by email as soon as replacement is complete.

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding."

I don't have a map handy, but does that mean you can't cross from the JBL cabin over to Peggy O'Brien and Grace Camps, (and, e.g., the Wolf Jaws), and you would need to use a different trail from the Garden, depending on which lodging you were heading to?

This sounds like the High Water Bridge located up stream from Bushnell Falls #2 Lean-to (about 200 yards). Most routes utilize the rock crossing as you come down the embankment to the Johns Brook. For many years this bridge has become unstable.

The bridge being repaired is just below the Interior Outpost cabin, downstream from Slide Brook and JBL. The first bridge above that is on private property, of the Adirondack Mtn Club, and used for access for their property across Johns Brook. The third bridge is above Bushnell Falls.
