trails: lowes, randolph, gulfside, jefferson loop, osgood, valley way
conditions: lowes packed. getting icy in some steeper sections. randolph had old tracks filled over with a few inches fresh fluff, now broken to treeline then mostly crusty to edmands col. real good cramponing up to jefferson and back across ridge over adams. rockier going up madison. valley way well packed.
equipment: full winter gear. snowshoes for lower trails, crampons on ridge and summits.
comments: one of the most outstanding days i've had in the mountains. an amazing undercast. it was like two different days going from the ridge to the summits. particularly edmands col which was pretty inhospitable with bad visibility and a couple hundred feet up jefferson it was beautiful. the presidentials popping up like islands in a sea of clouds. thanks to the gentleman who picked me up and saved me the roadwalk from appalachia to lowes store and congratulations on your traverse.
