blasted up kearsage after work. i need a good close workout hike. i been running up oak hill and down the other side and back again..but more vertical would be nice. there is only a little bit of ice left at the half mile mark going up winslow trail. none going down that new trail that goes right from the top back to winslow state park. i figured doing it twice would be 2200' vertical and a good workout. 29 minutes up each time. i didnt hike sunday so i felt like abusing myself after work. great views, blue skies, didnt know what to expect for snow but only ice in a few spots and easily worked around.

Winslow trail is in much better shape than the Barlow trail which goes from the same trailhead. More ice on Barlow and very erroded, roots, mud etc. We did this last week, nice mountain.

barlow trail is new too. i went down it after the first ascent and not much ice left but sure was rocks and mud and roots. surprised it was that beat up. second time down i went back down winslow. just skirted around the steep parts slightly in the woods. was gonna do it again tonight but im tired.
