Trail Conditions: Lonesome Lake Trail feels like a walk on the beach it's so sandy.
Fishin' Jimmy Trail is it's usual horrible series of ups and downs, very slippery and terribly muddy (quite deep sometimes too) but otherwise in good shape.
Kinsman Ridge Trail is in relatively good shape. Some of the bog bridges are getting a little decrepit and all are VERY SLIPPERY!! Take care when stepping onto those darned things they're like ice and I've got a bruised shin to prove it.

Special Equipment: With all the mud gaiters may be a good recommendation. Was hasseled by 2 little mosquitos who seem to have lost their way, but otherwise no bugs.

Special notes: met a great thru-hiking couple up by Lonesome Lake before they veered off on Cascade. Wound up picking them up while they were hitchhiking along 93. Check out their blog: www.mikeandrox.com.
