I have climbed Whiteface VIA the Ski Trails to the top hut and then to the summit by the trail with cables. I am planning on going back on Sunday and need some expert advice.

I remember seeing the small trail you take to access the ski run called "The Slides"

I would like to climb this ski run and just continue to follw that same slide to the summit. Is this at all possible? Any information would be very helpful.

It is quite possible. I did this once as a summer full moon hike. Didn't even need a headlamp. It's a terrific climb up the slide and pretty staighforward. At the top we bushwhacked through some thick stuff to get to the summit.

For the approach, follow the main chairlift to the base of the summit quad. Follow that up lower Skyward to where Crossover Loop appears on your right, and a big honkin' drop on Skyward is coming at you on your left. Take Crossover loop to its little bend and there's the bottom of Slide Out, the trail that takes you off the Slides on those rare occasions they're open for skiing.

The slides themselves are nice, clean rock to ascend, as Bev mentioned the bushwhack at the top is a little thick, but not bad. To come down, follow the trail to Whiteface Landing a couple of hundred yards till it splits, main trail heading right, your trail heading straight ahead or slightly left. It takes you right to the top of the summit quad, and you can follow any of the ski trails back down.
