Trails generally in good shape with only a couple of blowdowns. Minor ice in the area of the hut and at the seep on Lafayette's upper cone. Mud in places along the ridge but no ice. Lower Liberty Springs Trail was the usual footbath with lots of mud.
Crossings were mellow.
We carried Microspike ST's but they weren't needed. Poles were a big help.
Nice to run into Al A. on Lafayette and catch up.
Perfect weather! Long views and shirtsleeve temperatures with little wind. Doesn't get any better.
