Fresh trail after Wednesday's snow. At least a foot of snow the whole way. The last half a mile of the spring trail had one to three feet of snow. The trail is in great shape. No downs and well mark like all the other sections of the AT. The ridge trail the same 1' to 3'. Beautiful day, summit-ed in a t-shirt. Temp was great, the summit was clouded and had no views.
Was going to travel to Flume but decided against it after breaking the trail, 3.2 miles to Liberty. On the way down past a group of seven who thanked me a said they were going to Flume. Then pass a group of four who where going to the tent site. So the trail is well establish now or until the next snow.
Snowshoes from visitors center and back. Without them would not have made it. Five feet off the trail anywhere from waist to neck deep.
Also when I crossed the junction to the Flume slide trail on the way down there was fresh snowshoe tracks. How far they go I'm not sure but it is likely that the trail is also established until the next big snow.
Get out and hike.
