FINALLY! a great weather day. forecast said thunderstorms so i didnt pick Adams. hour and a half up liberty. what a perfect day. just about liberty spring tentsite area at 3800 feet, there was the november ice. after that a little snow on top of it. a couple feet of snow on the ridge heading right to liberty. The summit was bare and perfect. Great views all around. I could see lots of snow on washington, and some on loon slopes, and scattered a little here and there but not much. reports from hikers said 3 feet and more over towards little haystack. What a nice day to sit on the summit. hope there is more of this good weather tomorrow.

Oh, well, turns out that Saturday was THE day for hiking in the Whites this past weekend, unless you are a duck, in which case Sunday through Tuesday were great; quack, quack.....

funny..lucked out twice. sunday i took my two 50 pound nieces up to Lonesome Lake. They ran the whole way, threatened rain..but didn't get a drop in the 2 hours or so that we were up there.
