Whitehouse & Liberty Springs well packed negative monorails. No problem stream crossings or blowdowns. Franconia Ridge same to Liberty, less well packed but still good over to Flume. No blowdowns on it. I used snowshoes as soon as I hit the steeper parts of the trail and kept them on the rest of the hike. They provided better traction and cleaned up the trail where some barebooters had been, although a few postholes were only partially filled in. The mighty tough little dog barepawed it and didn't posthole, but he did get ice between his claws. I've got to find him some boots. Incredible views today; including a deep blue sky and snow covered vegetation and rocks. Very little wind. We haven't been getting these kind of days very often on the weekend the past year or two.
Saw four hikers on Flume who came up the Osseo Trail in snowshoes. Saw some bareboot tracks towards the Flume Slide Trail.
