Conditions: Overcast 50ish calm weather.
Special equipment needed: Cell phone to call from Shawangunk Ridge to pester friends (especially Al!!) who do not work for a government or bank and should have played hooky to be with me on a great hiking day.
Comments: Followed maps and description in Herb Chong's excellent Long Path Guide. Signage at Stone School House Road and Bible Camp Road is off by 90 degrees. Insufficient blazes at this intersection. MAKE SURE YOU TURN LEFT toward Basha Kill and the Ridge. Great views at LP/SRT intersection of Wurtsboro to the SW, Basha Kill swamp to the S and Southern Catskills to the NW. Descended into Wurtsboro and treated my self to a cab ride back to my car that was left at the intersection of 17K and 302 in Bullville. I had already logged 12 miles, got a late start and was in no mood to road walk back in the dark. Would have done a car spot if not solo.
