Body of Plymouth Man Recovered
CONCORD, N.H. – The search for 25-year-old Thomas Perkins of Plymouth, N.H., concluded sadly today, September 22, 2011, when his body was found by N.H. Fish and Game Conservation Officers. Perkins was located in a wooded area known as Rumney Rocks, adjacent to Rattlesnake Mountain in Rumney, N.H. Family members have been notified.
Perkins, an experienced rock climber, was last seen in the area of Rumney Rocks, off Buffalo Road, on Monday. When he did not return home as planned, family members contacted authorities on Tuesday afternoon, and the search began.
The search area was steep, heavily wooded and rocky, making for difficult searching conditions. Conservation Officers from N.H. Fish and Game, Troopers from New Hampshire State Police, and staff and volunteers from Rumney Police Department, White Mountain National Forest, Upper Valley Search and Rescue, and New England K-9 Search and Rescue participated in the search, with helicopter and canine support from N.H. State Police.
The Office of the Medical Examiner currently is investigating the cause of death.
