Conditions: Wet leaves with frost on the WA White Trail past the gatehouse gave way to snow covering leaves around 1700' and patchy ice conditions around 3200'. 1st tricky section due to ice was the final chute to LWJ. Absolutely fantastic undercast all day long with that wonderful "mountains in a sea of clouds" effect. Icy patches became much more frequent between WJ Notch and Armstrong summit. Went down the Beaver Meadow Trail where ice stopped around 3000' and below that were wet leaves from the melted morning snow.
Equipment: Waterproof boots for the many puddles encountered on the flatter ridge sections that were not completely frozen. Snowshoes and crampons not at all needed though traction aids could help in several areas. I had Microspikes but managed without putting them on.
