Anyone done lyon mtn. in northern adk's in the winter. Is the parking area plowed and is the trail broken in. Some friends of mine want to do it and I was thinking about joining them. Would snow shoes do or should I pack my crampons?

I did Lyon a few weeks ago on snowshoes. As mentioned above, the road to the parking area is not plowed, but we were able to drive up the road with an AWD Subaru. If you have to walk up the road it adds a mile to your trip. Do you backcountry ski? Both the road and maybe the first mile of the trail are skiable, if you have intermediate abilities. But you'd want more snow than we found. It was very windy on top, so be prepared.
