Very good trail conditions all the way from the Loj to Scotts Clearing, and up to Wallface Ponds. Some snow bridges over small streams have melted, but the ice bridges over the larger brooks are still intact. Wallface Pond (and all ponds) still nicely frozen and easily crossed. I crossed Wallface Pond and began my 1-mile bushwhack at the outlet, climbing steeply up to the extreme SE end of the summit ridge. The "official summit" and sign are on the opposite end of the ridge, at the extreme NW end. A 15+ mile day hike. One large blowdown mess about a mile from Heart Lake, but no other major trail issues from there to the summit.
Plenty of snow, and no ice anywhere on the trail. Used snowshoes all day; crampons not needed. The snow surface will not support use of crampons or microspikes, so leave them in the car and save that extra weight in your pack.
