Amazing day in the Presidentials today. Weather was mild, very light breeze and unlimited visibility. Out of the breeze and it was actually warm in the sun today at 5300 feet. Crystal blue skies. Valley way in excellent condition with packed trails although the top mile or so had from 4-6 inches on new snow and drifting. The whole trail is packed out well now. One major blowdown with packed trail around it. Osgood aptly described as styrofoam in an earlier posting. Scott and I met Donna and Patty and a beautiful lab, Ella on the trail, all from VT and shared the summit. Real nice time at the top with two very nice women. (make that 3!). Hopefully we can get together for a hike in the future.
The women uses microspikes all the way. Scott and I used snowshoes for Valley Way (great run down!) and microspikes on Osgood.
