Date of Hike: Saturday, November 13th

Tails: Valley Way, Watson Path, Osgood Trail, Gulfside Trail, Airline, Jefferson Loop, Castle Trail, Presidential Range Rail Trail.

Trail Conditions: Valley Way to Watson Path junction is in decent shape, just a little wet. Watson Path after crossing of Snyder Brook becomes a mix of and inch or two of frozen snow with ice making for a slick trail in spots (micro spikes very helpful). Osgood trail to hut has some snow and ice, microspikes helpful but could be barebooted with care. Gulfside/Airline to Adams has has patches of ice and some minor snow in spots but it ok (microspike again helpful). Gulfside to Jefferson Loop in good shape, snow and ice in spots but can be bare booted with care (small snow field on eastern slope of Jefferson is not a problem. Jefferson Loop can be barebooted but dows have snow and ice spots. Castel Trail is in great shape and no traction is required.

Special Equipment: Microspike on Watson Path almost a must, the rest could be barebooted by being careful and going slow

Comments: Warm day with great views in every direction. They were busy working up on the roof at Madison Springs Hut. Report and pics here http://dailey7779.blogspot.com/2010/11/northern-presidentials.html
