Started up the Great Gulf trail, turned back at the water crossing at the Bluff. Osgood was the fall-back.
Trail is very wet, but in fine shape. A handful of blowdowns remain.
Snow just below treeline. Not really a rail, just snow that happened to be on the trail and everywhere else. Mostly rotted and undermined, and melting fast. Bare boots are OK, light traction somewhat helpful.
Also one small snowfield above the last trail junction - just plow through.
Gear season is over. Put away the snowshoes and crampons, and start carrying bug spray.
