Great trail conditions in the Marcy Dam area. Hiked from the Loj to the Dam Lean-tos by moonlight on 12/21 around 30 degrees and was great. Met 3 skiiers over breakfast on 12/22; they broke Phelps and I did Tabltop first, then I proceeded to Phelps......windy, but great views on Phelps. Decided to hike out 12/22 evening instead of my plan to stay another night due to incoming weather (rain). All trails well packed with no fresh powder with very few postholes and blowdowns. Poles highly recommended along with snowshoes. (JLS)
