Trail Conditions: Trail from Loj to Dam a bit muddy. VanHo Trail from the dam onwards became increasingly muddy and wet, yet in great shape for this time of year. The final boardwalks before the summit rocks were submerged in about 1'' of water, still easy to get across though, feet may get wet.
Special Equipment Required: good boots, camera, bug spray, although bugs aren't bad at all when you are moving but seem to multiply in presence when you stop, especially due to the extra water and mud on the trail. We opted not to use gators, but they would definitely be helpful.
Comments: Great day to be in the woods. Sunny, some clouds, cool breeze. Amazing, full views at the top, be sure to chat with the summit steward. There is still one large patch of snow left to the side of the trail on the summit cone!
