After a chilly start (-1 at 7:15 AM) the day warmed up nicely (29 at 3 PM) with deep blue skys at the begining and end of the day and only a few high clouds in between.
Many thanks to the hikers who had gone before me. Right now there is a beautiful snowshoe track up Marshall.
There is still lots of unconsolidated snow off the track. On my way down, I thought I would bushwack from the swamp to Cold Brook Pass. I gave that up after going about 150 yds.! When you get to the swamp just turn and go up - don't follow my misadventure. I put a couple of puny sticks across my tracks.
