Left Upper works trailhead at 7:40 am. Trip to flowed lands is a highway so easy to follow. Trail is a very moderate grade here with a couple small bumps. Turn left at flowed lands and head towards lake colden. before turning left go straight to flowed lands shore and head east for a few hundred feet and you will get a great photo op of colden and avalanch. trail goes up for a small section. When it comes down you will cross a one rail bridge. Immediatly after bridge you will see a small cairn on left side of trail. turn left here (took me 2 hours 10 minutes to get here).Trail is easy to follow, it follows the brook all the way up. there are cairns on the way up where the trail re-enters the woods. you will walk in the brook for some of the time. If confused just follow the brook and you wil find the trail becouse it does follow the brook almost to the top. at the Col between marshall and iriquios you will see another cairn. turn left here and you will be walking in the brook for a while. be carefull to remember this section becouse on the way down you could miss it and go straight. there are tree's laid in the trail to warn you of this. you are only 300 feet from the summit at this point. summit itself has no view but continue on the trail south for a few feet and there is a outlook where you can see the santanoni's and south east. the best view you will get of iriquios is just below the summit on the trail. on the way down just follow the brook. took me 8 hours to finish. It will take you longer if you stop and take a picture of every waterfalls, ther are lots of them. Water is obviously not a problem. becouse i did it day after a thunderstormit was wet, but I imagine a extra pair of socks would come in handy (waterproof your boots before you leave).
