Hiked Marshall starting from Upper Works on 10-26-10. Trail was very wet and muddy from start to finish. Started at 6:40 am and reached the Marshall summit at noon. Ran into blow down starting about 1/2 mile before the Henderson Monuement and it got thicker the closer we came to the Colden Dam area. Once on the herd path to Marshall the number of trees down was quite numerous making the herd path hard to follow. There is a lot of tree tops down in the lower part of the trail. We were lucky because another hiker had accomplished Marshall but I have learned he or she came in from another direction. We followed the tracks in the snow as best we could. The higher up you go the less the blow down there is. We made it back to the Upper Works parking area at 5:30 pm.
