Took trail up from Whiteface Inn rd. Took a while to find the trailhead but finally spotted it and the register box just up the trail confirmed we were in the right place. Trail up gets pretty steep after the junction but was in good condition. Only a little mud here and there. Many beautiful vistas from the summit ridgeline. Took Shore Owners Assoc. trail down the other side to Bartlett pond and the Lake itself which was a delight. Soft under foot and not eroded at all. Walking back along the Lake Trail we got a little confused (probably lost the trail) and stumbled out onto the property access road in the last few hundred meters. Didn't see anyone all day which was a surprise as the fall colours are starting to bust out in full force.
