While there are a couple of nice hikes on this forum slated for this Saturday, the 10th, I wondered if anyone is up for a more relaxed jaunt in the woods--a gentler, mellower hike to Mt. Martha?
Mount Martha (3573'), optional: Owl's Head (3258') with views of the Presi's and mountains to the South. A moderate 5.7 miles roundtrip hike with 2350' elevation gain in a book time of 5 hours. How about it?
WHEN: Saturday, February 10th
TIME: 9:15am or earlier for 9:30am start
PLACE: Cherry Mt Trail Parking
DIRECTIONS: Interstate 93N, take exit 35 to 3 North. Go past Twin Mountain and past 302 junction to Rt 115. Turn right onto NH 115 and proceed for 1.9 miles. Cherry Mountain trailhead will be on your right. NOTE: Look for Lennon Rd. on the left (as you are heading North on 115) the trailhead is IMMEDIATELY across the road on the right. Its easy to miss because parking is slightly elevated and if no cars are there you can mistake it for a grassy hill.
Weather looks favorable thus far with a possibility of a snow shower. Full winter gear recommended to include good traction devices.
Going once, going twice...
