A group of us began hiking the Metacomet-Monadnock trail southbound in June 2005. Our trials and tribulations will reach their culmination on 12/31/2005 as we hike the final two sections. We'll be combining this with the start of another project: section hiking the Metacomet trail in CT. No wonder TramperAl wants to bag the Metacomet trail... there's another patch for his display drawer!

This is a "dogs allowed" hike, with Dugan four-legs and Carmen hiker-dog-extradinaire participating thus far. Since neither has mastered driving, they will bring along their humans, Dugan two-legs and Jade, to help with spotting cars. They've decided to allow TramperAl to come along, even though he isn't bringing a dog.
I'm guessing that snowshoes will not be required, due to the recent and forecasted weather. For those of you that know Dugan four-legs, he's hoping the predicted rain will supply lots of big muddy puddles!
We plan to indulge in a post-hike celebratory lunch, which brings me to a question for you Nutmeggers. Our hike ends in Suffield CT. Any restaurant recommendations?

Will TramperAl slow down enough to stay on trail?
Will Dugan two-legs get through an entire hike without falling?
How much mud can Dugan four-legs hold in his coat (and yet still dry to a sparkly white)?
What home baked goodies will be available? (hint: hope everyone likes coconut or chocolate!)
