Trail conditions: This section of the M&M is well maintained and easy to follow... we didn't have any navigation issues at all. Mosquitoes were out and a little thick in spots along Mormon Hollow Brook in particular. Bugs were mostly tolerable otherwise.
Special equipment: Bug spray helpful.
Comments: This was a pretty section of the M&M. I really liked all of the laurel-lined trail in Wendell State Forest, the old dam ruins along Mormon Hollow Brook and the view of rainclouds racing toward us from Crag Mtn. We spent 50 percent of the hike sweating and the other half marching through rain and thunderstorms. Another interesting day on the M&M.
Participants: Silent Cal, Rocks&Rolls, Cumulus and me. Dugan and her dog Caboodle joined us for part of the day as well.
