Monadnock via. White Dot, White Cross, White Arrow, Pumpelly, Marlboro, Smith Summit Trail, Fairy Spring Trail and Cascade Link.
Date of Hike: 9/2/09
Trail Conditions: All trails in perfect condition
Special Equipment Required: Whatever you want. See much more of a variety of things on Monadnock then you do in the Whites. One minute you see a dude in jeans and a huge heavy pack, the next minute a guy wearing heavy pants, no shirt and only carrying a water bottle. Seems you can do it just about any way.
Comments: JF & I did 4 ascents today. Good time, good workout. Around 8 hours of hiking. Returned to the car mid-way for some food & beer, always welcome. Monadnock is a fun mountain and besides the cool above treeline travel, the woods are pretty durn gorgeous as well.
