Date of Hike: 01/30/2010
Trail Conditions: The private road is plowed & not icy. Packed snow, a few inches in the old Half-way House clearing. White Arrow is icy probably in the first 100 or so yards, a couple hundred yards above the trees, enough bare rock so you can remove your crampons.
Special Equipment Required: If you head right up the ice flow, I think your need crampons. Plenty of tracks going around the mail flow looked like a couple of icy spots there. I suspect the micro-spike users went that way.
Comments: my later start, (10:20) and slow pace got me up to the summit after a large group had just left to head back to Park HQ. Just me & three people at 12:45. Didn't feel like layering up so only spent a couple fo minutes up there which was more than one soloist who came up from the park, he hit the top & turned around. On my way down saw a few people still heading up, one girl who probably finished soon after I did. The later groups were not set on summitting, just catching some views. Enough clear spots fro 7-10 cars. The main part of the Old Toll Road lot was passable to pick-ups & SUVs. I probably could have got my Forester in there but there were enough spots in the plowed section.
