Route: Ammo Trail
Date: Wednesday, 2/25/09
Trail Condt: Had to break trail the entire way, and the snow was deep (knees to pocket range). But with 5 of us packing it out up and down, it will be in terrific shape until the next storm.
Spec. Equip.: Snow shoes up to Lakes Hut; crampons up to Monroe (icy and necessary)
Comments: Steve, friend Anthoney and I met two solo hikers, Damon and "he who shall not be named" in parking lot. If it wasn't for fate putting us five together, we would not have had enough man power for trail breaking.
The winds were calm to zero, incredible views ... a wonderful day.
