Yup, it's a fine place, very car-campy so you're not far from others but good for a night before a hike.

Same here, we are usually there at least twice a year. Our favorite is site 37, but 3,5,7 are nice too.

I have camped there a couple of times..car campy but showers aren't a bad thing and close enough to town...lots of good sites

on the eve and day of my first round completetion we had a really private site up in back that had kind of a pole barn covered picnic table area which was really handy as it poured rain during the night..

bright and sunny day on Adams however

not sure about the Terra friendly rules however..

For general info, they do have at least one group site that is way at the dead end of a dirt road with lots of room for multiple tents and a firepit. Probably a good place for a mini gathering. The swimming area comes directly off of Ice Gulch and Perkins brook, there is a so called warming pool that attempts to prewarm the water but it is decidedly "refreshing" most of the year.

The Gorham Town Forest is at the end of Jimtown Road and makes for some good walking, there is a connection to the south end of Ice Gulch, but the trail is only marginally maintained.

The campsites on the south side of the road are decidedly more "car campish"

The closest store Moes Variety at the intersection of Rt 2 and 16. With Shaws shut down, the beer selection in town has gone down.

Yep. very nice park and nice hot showers. Saw a bear while I was there.

Having camped there many times, completely agree with the others' comments.

However, the showers can queue before the dinner hour as there is only ONE shower for each of the guys and gals.

Sites 11,12,13,14 on the dead end are wooded and have the most buffer between. Sites 25, 26 are the only no pet sites- the day use area (by ponds)is no pets in theory- but not the reality.

Almost all the reservable sites are full for this weekend. If you are planning a different weekend I would suggest making a reservation for one of the secluded sites. www.nhstateparks.org

If you follow Perkins path just a short distance up the brook there is an impressive mini gorge. The trail starts on the edge of the little field by the maintenance shop (near dumpsters).

Vashaws Variety store seems to have the best beer selection right now.
