moose on the loose

Went up Eisey on Friday, traversed over to Pierce then down Crawford path. Was a wonderfull day and met alot of friendly and decent folk. On the roadwalk back to the Edmonds path I heard a huge crashing sound coming up towards the road, a BIG bull moose ran across the road 50 ft in front of me, never slowed down and didnt even look both ways before crossing he was one of the lucky ones, I caught myself saying as he passed "excuse me"

Glad this moose made it across with no collision. Early Friday morning as I drove up the Gale River loop road to the Garfield trailhead, I followed a Fish and Game truck towing a trailer with a dead moose on it, probably road-killed the night before. The CO was pulled off on a side road leading to the moose pit. Moose don't normally pay attention to roads, and the rut season is in the offing soon so they'll be even crazier about road crossings.
