nhmtnhiker, azhrei, and I drove up to ravine house lodge and started hiking at 5:50. beautiful weather, nice and cool. almost zero snow or november ice all the way to the top. About 2 hours to the top. We took gorge brook trail, and hung at the summit for a while having some food. The view was very hazy, but Lafayette, Washington, and a couple others were peaking out(sorry) for our viewing pleasure. There was this mushroom cloud over part of Vermont that was pretty intense to see. We wondered if it was the part of Vermont that wanted to secede and they had nuked it. I think nhmtnhiker took a pic of it, maybe he will post it. We headed back down and did the last 45 minutes in the dark, got down about 9:45. I finally yanked a light out of my pack for the last 10 minutes. These other two didn't even bother, I don't know they could see. I wish I had that kind of night vision. It was a fun thing to do after work, I didn't even feel that tired from Liberty last night, much to my surprise. Great hike, thanks to my companions for coming. More of these to come for sure.
