Trail Conditions: wet leaves and rocks on Glencliff, but good footing.
Special Equipment Required: maybe a light jacket on Moosilauke summit; maybe some sunscreen would have protected my bald cranium.
Comments: This was the first time I hiked up the Moose and S. Peak since May 2008 with Ray Loring, about 4 months prior to his death. Spent a good portion of time reflecting on my many hikes with Ray, as well as my father and father-in-law, who both passed away within the past 13 months. Felt like they were hiking with me.
This was an excellent early morning hike with an amazing undercast.
Nice and sunny above 3,000 feet. Was able to see most summits in NH and the higher peaks in VT, too. It was also very mild and almost no wind on main summit and on S. Peak. It was also unusually quiet on the trails today. Put the pedal to the metal today, so I could get home to watch part of the Pats game, which they won

BTW, Route 25 in the Glencliff/Warren area has jaw dropping foliage!
