Trail Conditions: Trail was broken out from the parking lot all the way to the summit. No blowdowns or obstructions of any kind….clear sailing today.

Special Equipment Required: Even though the trail was well stamped out, I strapped on snowshoes for the duration for extra flotation/stability. All the super duper winter weather gear needed on the summit!

Comments: The actual air temp on the summit was around zero.....maybe 20 or more below with the wind chill generated by 35 mph winds....no visibility...in other words – perfect conditions! I passed an 8-man AMC search & rescue team practicing on the mountain. They had passed over the top and met me on the other side when I was perhaps 500 yards from the summit. They spotted signs of frostbite on 4 people they met earlier and reminded me to be careful. I thanked them and headed on up to the summit where I took just one pic of the summit sign....too cold and windy to linger. Awesome day in the mountains!
