Trail packed snow with ice patches at 3,000' and 3,500' only. Summit windswept - approach is snow in most spots, with a few areas scoured and crusty.
Special equipment needed: Microspikes. Snowshoes or crampons would be overkill. Barebooting would be tough on the steep area.
Beautiful day with many braving the brisk wind above tree line. No one lingered at the summit sign! Quite a few glissading down the steeps which made descending interesting for the rest of us.
