i had a half day vacation day to take, so nhmtnhiker and i decided to see if we could have a better(safer?) day than monday on mt adams. met him in plymouth, and drove up to do the glencliff trail. headed up at 2:47 with stabilicers. In 1:58 we were at the south peak with a couple short breaks. 18 minutes later on the summit. It was dark but a full moon was up. It was quiet..no wind, stark beauty. We stayed on the summit about 3 minutes...long enough to put jackets and hats on. We turned around..and decided to bag the south peak for kicks. Real nice and quiet up there...the moon was getting higher and lighting things up nice. We didnt need headlamps at all on the way down. Nice walk down the hill..boot skiing most of the way back to the car. No war wounds or car accidents this time. Beautiful afternoon and evening out in the mountains.
